Chapter 35: El Dia De Los Muertos

  1. 1: The fumes of the Colorado got to be so strong that it caused Matt to have an asthma attack, and since he didn't have a puffer, he passed out. Matt compared the air coming from the Colorado to the dead air near the water purification plant.
    2: When Matt passed out, Fidelito ran to go get help. He came back with a women named Consuela who helped Matt and gave him a puffer. She asked where he was going, and her husband offered to drive them to Maria.
    3: The celebration is El Dia de Los Muertos, or the Day of the Dead, which is the Spanish equivalent of Halloween. This all comes as a shock to Matt since he had never celebrated the Day of the Dead before.
    4: Because of this they are able to where masks to hide their identity all day with out looking out of place. This means that the Keepers won't be able to find them.

  2. 1. At the river, Matt has an asthma attack and faints because of how bad the smell was coming off of the river.
    2. An old man named "Guapo" and his sister named Consuela helped the boys and brought them to a cemetery. However, they were not going to bury the kids, they were bringing him to their house.
    3. El dia de los muertos is being celebrated. It is known as the day of the dead, or as we know it, "Halloween".
    4. They will use this to their advantage because they can dress up in costumes because it is Halloween and they will be disguised. Therefor, encase the Keepers show up, they will not be able to identify the boys.

  3. 1. Matt had an asthma attack because of the smell of the air. The air reminded him of the eejit pens.
    2. Two people from San Luis named Guapo and sister Consuela helped Matt. They are taking Matt to the convent where María lived.
    3. They are celebrating the day of the dead. They are celebrating this because they are remembering there loved ones who have died.
    4. The boys can use this to their advantage because the keepers usually don’t come out during parties and the boys get to where masks.

  4. 1. Matt passed out because he had asthma from the stench on the river.
    2. Two people named Guapo and Consuela helped the kids bring the boys to the cemetery but they weren't going to Barry them, they were heading to their house.
    3. They were celebrating Halloween which they call it the day of the dead.
    4. The Keepers don't go to parties and the boys are wearing masks so they couldn't tell who the person was.

  5. 1. At the river Matt gets a asthma attack and it is really hard for him to breath. He gets a asthma attack because the smell of the river.
    2. Guapo and Condole help them and they take them back to a cemetery. Guapo and Condole are taking them there because that's where they live.
    3. The Holliday that they are going to celebrate today is halloween, they don't call it halloween it is called day of the dead.
    4. They will use halloween or day of the dead to there advantage because they can dress up in there costumes. This way they can hide from the keepers without being very very obvious that it is them.

  6. 1. The pollution in the air was so bad that it caused Matt to have an asthma attack, and because didn't have his inhaler, he fainted. He thought the smell was similar to the smell of the eejit pens.
    2. Two elderly people, a man and a woman named Guapo and Consuela, helped Matt by giving him an inhaler, and diving him to see María and her mother.
    3. They are celebrating El Dia de Los Muertos, which is Spanish for the day of the dead. This celebration is their version of Halloween.
    4. They can disguise themselves in costumes, without standing out, or being noticed. And since the keepers are looking for them, it will be very difficult for them to find the boys while wearing costumes.

  7. 1. Matt fainted at the river because the air was bad that he had a asthma attack and he didn't have his inhaler so he could have died.
    2. The two people who helped were Guapo and Consuela and they gave him an inhaler for his asthma attack and.
    3. they are celebrating a spanish halloween called El Dia Los Muetos and this is the day of the dead
    4. They put costumes on and they blend in with the crowd so nobody finds out who they are and the keepers are also after them so it is going to be hard to find them in a big crowd and costumes.

    2) the people that helped matt was a grandmother and a grandfather. They were takin to a wall that opened and inside was a seminary.
    3) the day that is being celebrated is the day of the dead. The reason they are. Celebrating this is because it is there thing they do to celebrate ones life.
    4) the boys will use this to there advantage because they will were the masks so they can divide them selves from the keepers.
